China’s been in the news for pollution a lot lately, and it’s no wonder! When the air quality index is at hazardous levels and the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection is advising citizens to stay indoors, there is obviously a very big problem. As with any problem, pollution didn’t arise out of nowhere.

The emissions from vehicles, lack of dust collectors in factories, and China’s desert plains all contribute to the issues it’s had with air pollutants. If this pollution problem isn’t seriously addressed, potential health risks including cancer, brain damage and asthma will multiply.

As China developed into a modern nation, it set up a long-term plan based on a constantly climbing and fast-paced economy. The economic standards resulted in a scramble to meet requirements at the lowest cost. This encouraged factories to promote shortcuts in industrial safety and pollution regulations. Where Chinese law requires certain machinery, monitors and meters to cut down on pollution, the companies themselves are concerned with production numbers. Chinese companies have been known to purchase industrial dust collectors and other pieces of required equipment, but the machines will sit idly by. If officials are assigned to check the meters on the anti-pollution equipment, many companies are alerted to the evaluation and have ample time to change the readings on the meters. The fierce competition among Chinese companies has led to honest production companies going under, both because their air-sensitive equipment brings up costs and because sometimes production is slowed. The pollution problem only continues to grow as China’s modernization begins to slow and its economic climb peaks.

Without real standards or checks for its businesses, there can be no change and no promise for a better Chinese future. Why is a Caucasian woman in America writing about pollution on another continent? Because China’s pollution problem affects more than itself.

One of the main problems in any woodworking factory is the high amount of dust and sawdust created through the process of manufacturing and cutting wood pieces. The dust is dangerous, because not only can it cause health risks in employees- like eye problems, lung damage, and reduced visibility- it can also cause problems in the factory itself. Too much dust can clog machines, leading to performance problems that can cause the cutting equipment to dull, grease and dust to mix and gum up motors and other equipment, and even cause fire hazards that can lead to equipment burn-outs, explosions, and failures.

Because of the high safety risk in woodworking industries, dust collection is a must. One of the main ways that woodworking facilities control dust is through the use of a jet dust collector. A jet dust collector is a cone-shaped object that prevents dust from escaping into the air by pulling it into the machine like a vacuum. The dust collector can be hooked directly to a dust-producing machine, or it can be placed nearby dust creation locations and simply pull the dust into the machine from the air.

Just like a traditional vacuum, the dust collector spins the sawdust in a circular or vortex-like motion that prevents the dust from clogging up the collector. The dust is then expelled into a disposable bag connected to the bottom of the collector. This makes it easy to remove the bag and dispose of the dust once the bag is full. Adding a new bag is a simple operation as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkgQ3JZO-e8

The right dust collection method can mean the difference between keeping factory air clean and healthy and working in an unsafe environment that could cause health risks. This is why so many factories take their air filtration systems seriously, especially if the factory deals in materials that can injure the lungs or throat, such as chemicals or harsh abrasive particles.

One of the most effective air cleaning solution is the cyclone dust collection system. A cyclone dust collection system works by centrifugal force. In the collector, the particles are dropped out of the air stream through centrifugal force. As the dirt travels around in a circular pattern, the dust is easily captured in a trash container under the funnel.

Although simple mechanics are used, the cyclone dust collection system is one of the most effective and cleanest dust collection systems in the world. In fact, the cyclone system can capture up to 99.98 percent of all the dust particles in any given space. This is a high capture rate that is unmatched by other dust collection systems.

Any factory that creates dust on a regular basis, including mining facilities, woodworking shops, and mining facilities can benefit from the use of a highly effective dust collection system like the cyclone system. Factories that effectively manage their dust and control the contaminants in the air see healthier workers, cleaner products, and more efficient machines because there is no dust or other contaminants that get stuck in the moving parts of other machines.

Baghouses are used for the removal of dust and dirty particles from the air. They are found in factories, and other large scale manufacturing workshops where a dust control system is needed. A proper and efficient dust collection system is essential for any industrial environemtn where airborne particiles are common. Keeping the air clean is an important part of employee safety and well being as well as keeping the environment and work place clean and productive. Baghouses are one way that manufacturers use to keep their air at a healthy level. Unlike other varieties of products, baghouses are not differentiated by their appearance or design, but rather baghouses are named after the method used for cleaning the dust and the filter found inside the machine. The three most common types of baghouse designs are shaker baghouses, reverse gas baghouses and pulse jet baghouses.

A shaker baghouse can range in size from hand size to large scale units and are popular in the minerals processing industry. They are designed so that the dirty gas enters the bottom of the baghouse and then passes through the filter, where the dust collects on the inside surface of the bags. In a shaker baghouse, the dust is physically shaken from the bag in order to knock off the dust. This is accomplished by the vibration produced by a motor driven shaft that creates waves in the bags to remove the dust. A reverse air baghouse on the other hand, blocks the dirty air from flowing back into the compartment to be cleaned and clean air is forced back through the bags in order to dislodge the dust. A pulse jet baghouse, just like the name suggests, sends a shot of clean air through the bags while they are still filtering the dirty air in order to clean it. Another variety of a baghouse is one called a sonic horn baghouse. A sonic horn baghouse is very similar to a pulse jet baghouse in that it also sends a pulse of air, though this time through a sonic horn, through the bags in order to dislodge some of the dust.

The similarity between all of these different cleaning methods is that the final outcomes of the dust in the bags is when the particles fall down from the filters and are collected in a hopper where it can easily be cleaned and removed by maintenance.

?hd=1

When I was younger, my family decided to leave the rental house we were living in and build a house of our own. We got a good deal on the land, because we were building it right in the middle of a soy bean field owned by my Grandpa. It was a challenge that my parents were looking forward to, and it was met with enthusiasm and a sense of humor.

My brother and I were young enough where it wasn’t efficient to have us help, but old enough to realize what was going on. We spent most of the day entertaining ourselves by making up games, playing tag in the field or playing a game of soccer. When we got bored with those games, we sometimes just sat and watched everyone work. Since we were building it in the summer, and we were in the middle of a field, everything was really dusty and the wind was whipping it around. Building generates a lot of sawdust, and sawdust and wind do not make a great combination. My parents were always really careful and made sure that they wore protective masks whenever they were dealing with dusty materials.

This kind of caution is necessary in any factory or manufacturing environment where harmful dust particles could cause problems. Many companies try to combat these problems by having a form of dust collection. There are many different varieties available of dust collectors, and each one is specially suited for different situations. These range in size, purpose, shape and many other variables. It is not really important as to what type of dust collector you choose, but rather that you have one.

When production of products is taking place in a building, many toxins and particles are released into the air creating air pollution. Dust collector manufactures know how important this product is for the people that need to use them. They can help companies pick out the best type for them specific to each individual needs. Available in many shapes, sizes and styles there is sure to be a perfect match for any type of use. There are also wet collectors and try collectors available depending on what type of emissions machines and tools are giving off.

Leading industries that use dust collectors are agricultural industries, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, cement fabrication, coal handling, mining, recycling and metal fabrication. These types of companies used dust collectors as a part of everyday operations to keep their employees and environments safe.

The government has specific laws and regulations for the outputs of emissions that factories can release into the environmental air as well as air that is released back into the factories. This is because the machines and heavy equipment that is used in these types of work environments can be toxic and can harm individuals as well as the environment. Dust collectors reduce and even eliminate particles that are floating around the air that could potentially be breathed in for released outside. These devices help companies meet the federal requirement. Overall these are very helpful devices and are a simple solution for truing toxic air back into clean air.

I’m all about convenience. I like being able to zip through a drive through on my way home if I’m hungry and in a hurry, I like being able to answer a text on my cell phone in a second, and I like being able to record my favorite shows on my television so that I can watch them on my own time. I know I am not alone in this preference, that is just how our society is.

This idea of convenience does not just pertain to my personal life. In the workplace, convenient often means efficient, and efficient transfers into profitability. Often in a workplace, space is limited in which you operate and do your job. This makes certain things that are necessary to have in a manufacturing environment, like having a dust control system, boxy and space consuming.

One way to combat the space issue is by employing portable dust collection equipment instead of a permanent one. The obvious benefit this will bring is that it offers you the ability to adapt to a changing work environment since it can easily be transported from room to room and around the factory. Since the size of a portable dust system is typically smaller than a normal one, it can fit in smaller areas and take up less floor and wall space. The smaller size also means easier storage when they are not in use. For smaller spaces where floor and storage space might be limited, this is a great advantage.

Keeping dust in control is definitely a priority in most manufacturing environments. There are many safety, quality and professional reasons for doing so. By having portable dust collection equipment, this task is manageable and simple. Portable dust collection equipment is truly the definition of convenience.

Anyone that has ever worked in a factory knows the importance of keeping the air you breathe in clean. Often times, the work spaces are not temperature controlled and can reach triple digits during especially hot days in the summer. There are a lot of things that the company can’t control about the work environment, such as attitudes of workers and the weather. Ensuring that the workers are breathing in safe air is an important factor that the company does have control of.

There are many different ways to keep the air in a factory clean. Providing proper ventilation for factory equipment, and designated smoking areas outside for workers are several safety precautions that can keep a factory clean and manageable. Working with products that produce dust requires proper ventilation in your workspace, even if the dust is invisible and perceived as non-threatening. Experts agree that any dust, even the smallest particles, can endanger workers who are around it for extended periods of time. Dust and other fine particles can invade the respiratory system and other parts of the body, causing a multitude of health problems.

One popular method that companies use to reduce the amount of dust in the air is a cyclone dust collector. They efficiently clean the air in work areas by capturing and removing the dust created in the environment. One noticeable benefit of cyclone dust collectors is that, unlike traditional dust collectors which use expensive filters, cyclones use centrifugal force to remove particles from the airstream. This eliminates the need to replace expensive filters, which translates into a huge money and labor saving benefit. Since they are very effective at removing airborne dust from the environment, cyclone dust collectors are a popular choice for many industrial manufacturers who are in need of a dust reducing process.

Safety of the company’s employees is essential in a manufacturing environment. There are hard hat requirements, extensive equipment training and constant reminders and postings of safety procedures. Dust collecting systems are also vital to a work environment. They keep the air safe of pollutants and ensure that employees are breathing in clean air throughout the day. They have a large responsibility, and unfortunately their size is sometimes large as well. This poses a problem when you need to keep a smaller scale manufacturing plant or work area clean of dust and the normal size of dust collectors is just too big.

In these cases, it seems like the perfect solution would be to have a smaller size dust collector system, which already does exist. Smaller scale dust collectors are available that are portable and easier to adequately fit smaller spaces. This definitely solves the space issue, but what if you could do one better? Well, with downdraft tables, you can.

Downdraft tables are designed to give you the benefit of a portable air system, but also have the ability to function without requiring access to external ventilation. They have the ability to work both as workstations and dust collecting systems. Downdraft tables are self contained portable dust collection systems that work to remove the harmful particles from the air in the workplace and return clean filtered air into the workplace. Downdraft tables are an efficient and economical way to protect workers from hazardous dust, smoke and fumes that travel around the workplace.
